Emma Newton, MFT-A
Emma strives to create a therapeutic space that is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative, where clients can feel understood, respected, and safe to explore and set goals for whatever is bringing them into therapy. She recognizes the importance of utilizing a systems lens through her work as a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and integrates trauma-informed care as an EMDR-trained clinician. She also draws on narrative and person-centered approaches, using curiosity and compassion to explore each client's needs.
Emma has about three years of experience working with adolescents, teens, young adults, adults, families, and couples. She obtained this experience working with clients in Texas and has recently relocated to Bend, Oregon. She has a deep appreciation for the powerful work that happens when multiple people choose to show up in the therapy room together and equally values the depth of individual work. She truly strives to listen and bring her expertise to whatever best serves the client
Having moved frequently throughout her life, most recently relocating to Bend, Emma developed a deep appreciation for the role of social and relational support in healing and resilience. This personal experience led her to research and write about the ways people need one another to heal. Work that continues to shape her therapeutic perspective. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, loss, trauma, or navigating a life transition, Emma hopes to help you tap into your inner strengths and move forward feeling authentic and empowered.
